ss002d6252 Posted 12 July , 2019 Share Posted 12 July , 2019 Was there a formal roll of men who were entitled to ? I thought it was just dealt with (and the badge issued) on a local/county association basis. Craig

The main thing is that unfortunately there’s no central register known to exist.
Toby Brayley Posted 15 July , 2019 Share Posted 15 July , 2019 I know not exactly what was asked for but somewhere in a thread on this forum is a county % of those that signed up, I am sure.

Yes there was a recording by percentage I recall. In part, this record was publicised at the time, specifically because the take-up had not been as good as hoped, which hindered the formation of coherent TF formations. I vaguely recall that this was an effort to introduce some element of competition between Counties to stimulate more men to volunteer. It was only partially successful.
