I picked this up for 40 bucks and have been trying to figure out what kind and all these maker marks. If there is anyone that can help it would be great

Thank you

Roberr

All fairly standard. On one side "WD under arrow" war department acceptance stamp, X - passed bend test, other side VR and crown - monarchs mark for Victoria Regina, 5 90  original manufacture May 1890 various date stamps and inspectors stamps from when it has been passed through the system for inspection, servicing and modifications, for 1898, 1899 and 1900, inspectors with "E" are at the Enfield factory. Similarly back of the blade E16 is an inspectors stamp from Enfield.  B on the edge of the hilt tang has a specific meaning, (corrosion noted and recorded at inspection ??)  6KRR is battalion/regimental issue, - "Kings Royal Rifle Corps" - see page 86 of the 1907 instruction to armourers. The struck out three digit number is a regimental rack number.

At USD$40 in this condition with scabbard, a good buy.

for link to the 1907 Instruction to Armourers

Cheers

Not much more to add to Ross’s reply, only to ask if you can see any markings on the scabbard?

There is a thread here which may also be of interest.

Excellent find at that price,

Dave.
