Help to identify British Army Cape

Hi

 

Would anyone be able to help me identify the era for the cape shown in the attached image. I believe the cape is possibly early 1940's I have just come into procession of it so at this time can give no marking etc. However I believe the picture speaks a thousand word

 

any help appreciated

It looks like a standard 1930's/early WW2 production MkVIII groundsheet - have a look at:

what appears to be a 1 inch hem and lack of brass grommets makes it look like a Mark VIII, probably mid Second World War. Let us know of any markings when you get it.
