So close to La Boisselle but so unvisited by comparison

Good photos Dave, I hadn't realised the slope was quite that steep. Gordon Dump in high on my list of visits when I'm next walking on the Somme, I have a visit to make for an Australian acquaintance. I've also never set foot in Contalmaison in all my visits to the Somme, an oversight I will put right next time.

Pete.

Hi Pete

its interesting how much the ground undulates with Lochnagar crater and sausage ball to the left and there’s even a further incline from the back of the cemetery up to the road.

There are some excellent views to be had and the area to the East of the Albert/Bapaume much quieter generally and without the large groups in coaches
