Remembered Today:

Permission to build a Kleif achieved - technical info needed

I've for som odd reason been given permission by the Danish police, department of public safety and fire authoroties, to build a replica Kleif flamethrower.

I'm waffling between making either a M1916 or M1917

Tom W.'s flickr stream has provided me with a bunch of nice photos and one technical drawing of a M1916

Any and all technical specs/drawings og the later Kleif's are much wanted.

Specifically dimensions, other than the ones on the image below.

German Model 1916 Portable Flamethrower

PS: Don't worry about the safety of the engineering part - this is pretty much my profession - pressure vessels, combustion, etc.

Sound's like you may be feeling like a KID again, about to build a favorite toy. If you are a mechanical engineer , or similar, I would suggest the simplest design first, if work's, then build the other next. Just remember, show us PIC's. PIC's PIC's

Pleeeese!😊 good luck.  Steve

There are a few technical bits in the write up on these M1917 pictures from AWM https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C239459?image=9

These pics from IWM look remarkably similar to the pics in the AWM and do have dimensions on them:

Good luck with the build and don't forget the Nomex when you test it!

Hope it goes as well as our prototype. 1950 version. Aluminium bodied bicycle pump, "pool" petrol from a milk bottle.

The designer operator set fire to his Dad's shed!
