chesterflyer Posted 1 July , 2019 Share Posted 1 July , 2019 I was at the Fusilier museum up at Alnwick the other day and came across a Private Scott who was awarded both the 1914 Star and the 1915 star and served in the Northumberland Fusiliers andThe Border Regiment. I thought you could only be issued one or the other? Any ideas? Photos attached Many Thanks
Ron Clifton Posted 1 July , 2019 Share Posted 1 July , 2019 You are right: those awarded the 1914 Star were not eligible for the 1914-15 Star as well. That said, I am sure that some mistakes were made, such as this one. The change of regiment, which incidentally would have involved a change of Infantry Record Office, probably explains the mistake in this case.
