alan jones Posted 29 June , 2019 Share Posted 29 June , 2019 Hello , I have been trying without success to see the above through Google Earth or similar of how it looks today . My late grandfather was firing his howitzer from that position with the 59th SiegeBattle of Neuve Chapelle . Just a thought though, it might not look like much but it interests me . JasonMc Posted 29 June , 2019 Share Posted 29 June , 2019 To follow on from Jonbem's work you can see the area on Google Street view. A trench at Pont du Hem Post ran around that field and up through the two houses in red. There's not much to see now by the look of if but you can certainly move around the area on streetmap to get an idea of the lay of the land that he was in.
