Bought this about 2 years ago at a fair and thought somebody might find it interesting.  It shows some sort of damage(apart from it getting squashed) perhaps shrapnel?

The explosives were normally in a cardboard container. This looks very similar.

? Are referring to the cardboard remains inside the grenade? Then yes I would agree.
