The 3rd battle of pilkem ridge

My great grandad Arthur John Barnes died on the first day of this battle on 31/7/1917. He was in the 1st /16th Bn london rifle Brigade . He is buried at the new Irish farm cemetery.   I am looking to go to Belgium next year & I am wondering if I would be able to go to the area he died , at pilkem ridge. Is the public allowed to go there?  I have looked on Google maps & it looks mainly farmland there.  I have read that the a19 was due to be built on this land but thankfully that looks to have been stopped  looking at the maps.  Can anyone please highlight on a map exactly where the battle was started on 31/7/1917?  Can anyone recommend places to visit nearby that would relate to this battle - any museums etc. If anyone  can anyone give me any information that would help me I would really appreciate it.   Thank you,   Sue.
