101 YEARS AGO TODAY:  Ruins of Arras, 13 June 1918.  Notice in the ruins of Arras Cathedral stating that the French authorities intend to preserve them as a historic feature and war memorial and forbidding the removal of material or interference with the site.  British soldiers by a German front line abandoned in April 1917 overgrown with weeds, Lievin.  Traffic control man calling car driver's attention to notice ordering slow driving to avoid raising dust which draws shell fire.  Chinese labourers filling sandbags to be kept nearby to barricade the road in the event of a German advance.
