Hi I am researching AB 234574 W C Collins RN. From June 1915 until July 1918 he seems to have served in HMS M31 which operated around the coast of Saudi Arabia however in his service sheet it says August 1917-June 1918 Egremont (Port Said) I can not find out if this is a base as I suspect, or a ship also there is a mention of HMS DUKE July.1918 but again I can not find a ship of that name at that time.  Any help would be greatly helpful.

The Port Said Base accounts were held at Malta by HMS EGMONT until 1 July 1918 when the base was named as HMS DUKE.

HMS M.31, as you note, was employed in he Mediterranean and in the Red Sea. She was a tender to (i.e. held on the books of) VIVID (Devonport), EUROPA (Mudros/Eagean), EGMONT (Malta), HANNIBAL (Alexandria), EURYALUS and DUKE (Port Said).
