Hi,

Could anyone help me understand the Movement and Promotions information on my Grandmothers uncle's RAF Service Record?

I presume he was pilot but it is not clear.

Thank you so much for your help.

I noticed his medical record was B1 and he wore glasses so was thinking he probably wasn't a pilot.

Excellent stuff. I can now add these details to my records

Thanks again

Craig,

His RNAS record of service can be found at https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D6836398

His rating upon enlistment in the RNAS would have been Air Mechanic Grade 2, then Grade 1 on 24.02.18. At the formation of the RAF the trade title was changed to Aircraftman Class 2 and Class 1, and these have been been used on his RAF record above to record his RNAS service.
