NR72 Posted 28 May , 2019 Share Posted 28 May , 2019 Hello All, I'm after some assistance, after checking all the usual places I'm at a loss to find any more information on this chap. His name was David Fredrick Smith he was born London ( I think) 1896 and he was a Stoker, he was on HMS Watcher , which I believe was a HM Tug , maybe pre war but then drafted to HMS Queen. He did see service in WW2 in RN Any help would be greatly received Thanks
horatio2 Posted 28 May , 2019 Share Posted 28 May , 2019 This may be your man. https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8559688 Note that he was a Trimmer, the equivalent of a Stoker, in the Royal Naval Reserve. His first sea draft was to HMS WATCHER.
