Hi Folks

I am looking to see if any of you more experienced researchers can help me out with details on one of my Villages WW1 Soldiers?

Private Robert  McDade  served with the Royal Scottish Fusilliers  6th 7th Battalion Service number 19542

Born Paisley he resided in Neilston East Renfrewshire .

He is reported wounded 3rd June 1916.

He is reported missing - War Office Daily List No. 5365  Report Date:  15/09/1917 ??

He is reported died 31st July 1917

If he was missing why is he registered as Died and not Killed in Action or died of wounds ?

many thanks

Matt

His Soldiers Effects entry says presumed dead on or since 31 Jul 1917

In other words nobody knows how he died, and therefore cannot be more specific
