South Lancashire Regiment 2nd Bn

I am looking for the place where a private was killed on 25/09/1915 , am not familiar with the Battalions, Regiments, Divisions....

What I know is that he belonged to : South Lancashire Regiment 2nd Bn, under his picture says : 7th South Lancashires.

It seems to me I have 2 possibilities :  Battle of Loos or second Battle of Bellewaerde.  Am I correct ? Any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance.

Yes,clk, private 16202 Joseph Woodier. The only info I found about him was on the St. Helens Rolls of Honour.

Soldiers Effects says 2nd Bn, death presumed on or since 25th Sept 1915. Father Albert was paid war gratuity.

You may wish to read the 7 Brigade diary WO 95/1413 which has the operation order for the 25 Sep attack and some notes on the operation.  The South Lancs lost 2 officers and 25 men killed, 5 and 179 wounded, 1 and 49 missing.
