Remembered Today:

My new webpage to the Gallant schoolteachers of Merseyside

I've completed a webpage dedicated to the Schoolteachers from the local area of Merseyside who lost their lives in WW1 (It includes teachers from other regions who served in the King's Liverpool Regt.). I have only 2 casualties to find but their details are scant.

Please let me know of any errors or if you have any interesting articles or links I could put in.

Dave,

Well done, a nice piece of work!

Regarding Lieut. J.G.Williams 17th RWF, there is a picture of him on the Royal Welsh Forum on their date-listed roll of WW1 casualties.  Curiously, despite the cutting mentioning that he was a house master at the Normal College, Bangor, he is not on their war memorial.  It's possible that the memorial only relates to ex-students.

Clive,

J.G.Williams is on the Uni. of Bangor memorial according to IWM https://www.iwm.org.uk/memorials/name/390239

Many thanks to all your encouraging comments, I'll have to think of another project now.

I have a note that he has an article and photo in the Western Mail 7 9 1918. It's quite possible that this is the photo/article mentioned above by Clive. Western Mail can be found on FMP if you have access.

There's a J G Williams, Lt RWF Lt  Bangor Cathedral Memorial. I can't readily find anyone else to be this one but hasten to add it's some time since I looked.

Here's the Uni memorial
