What has happened to Geoff's Search Engine?

As soon as I click in the Name field, I am confronted with a demand to sign a petition to revoke Article 50! As a citizen of Ireland, while I am all in favour of the aim of the petition, I do not feel that I should sign it, but I cannot get past it. (The same applies to the WW II search engine, by the way).

Can anything be done to stop this?

P.S. And even when I did sign it, I was not able to revert to the search engine!

There has been another thread about the demise of both engines.  It seems that Geoff has sadly given up.

So that's that - a great pity. I think that the takeover by the petition is a dirty trick, though!

From the website, "Last search on April 10, 2019, 9:30 am " for WW1 Search Engine.

The rest of the website is still accessible to me using http://www.hut-six.co.uk/GreatWar/ If you see a Petition, use your computer's "Back to previous page" function.

Cheers

Maureen
