Hi,

I would be very grateful for any information on this officer killed in action before Guillemont in August 1916 Henry R Handcock CWGC. of the second battalion of the Leinster Regiment.

I would particularly like to know where he came from; so one of the following would be great - birthplace, resident address, census record, obituary etc.

I visited his grave in Maricourt in 2017, but unusually for an officer I have never been able to get any information on the man.

His record of effects provides some NoK records, but I have had no success in following up.

Any help much appreciated and thanks in advance.

P.s. I will not be able to attend Kew.

The Kent Fallen website records him as being from Ashford in Kent:

Full name Henry Robert Handcock, known as Harry.

There is an Ancestry tree on his family - click for Ancestry Tree - which has more about the family than about him, but he is on that tree
