Guest Posted 12 May , 2019 Share Posted 12 May , 2019 Can anyone help please. My grandfather, James Creegan appears to have been captured on 3/5/17 and taken to Dulmen prisoner of war camp but he appears to have died in camp and was buried in SW Berlin cemetery. I just wondered if anyone can explain why his body was transferred all the way to the SW Berlin cemetery, ans can anyone suggest how I can find out the circumstances of his death? i am new to this so any help would be apriciated. Thanks. Jeremy.
charlie2 Posted 12 May , 2019 Share Posted 12 May , 2019 There are three Red Cross index cards for him https://grandeguerre.icrc.org/en/File/Search He was transferred from Dülmen to Zerbst, where he died in the camp infirmary of a lung infection.
