luckylou Posted 8 May , 2019 Share Posted 8 May , 2019 Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone knew off the top of their heads examples of businesses setting up soldiers parcel funds for their own employees serving during the First World War. I am aware of churches, charitable groups and the gifts sent out on the behalf of Royalty during this period; but never come across much in the way of companies doing the same during the war and my attempts at googling has drawn a blank. Many thanks
ilkley remembers Posted 12 May , 2019 Share Posted 12 May , 2019 Many firms provided parcels for employees serving at the front as well as their families, If you have access to the British Newspaper Archive and search for parcels for troops or something similar then you will find plenty of examples
