ForeignGong Posted 1 May , 2019 Share Posted 1 May , 2019 Hi all Just arrived back from my holidays in UK and 5 days in F & F. My wife's uncle gave me the item below stating that his father had brought it back from WW1. It looks like a nose cone but I'm no where near knowing anything regards artillery pieces. I have cleaned it up as it was still covered in dirt. Overall length is 100mm, 50mm at top Any help will be appreciated.

WK 361 LP Posted 1 May , 2019 Share Posted 1 May , 2019 Hello, I think this fuze is a Belgian one, better than french. "OM" O means Obusier (Howitzer), M means Mortier (Mortar), so "fusée pour obusier et mortar". Typical motion use on fuze of Belgian origin. Hope this will help you. ForeignGong Posted 1 May , 2019 Author Share Posted 1 May , 2019 Thank you all for the information. I had no real idea even if it was a fuze, it looked like it could be. I will let the family back in the UK know. Once again, many thanks for taking the time. Peter
Gunner Bailey Posted 2 May , 2019 Share Posted 2 May , 2019 Well done JM. I've not seen this variety before. French style but clearly improved by the Belgians.
