Are you meaning the Service Record/Pension Record or the WFA Pension Ledger ? Craig

ForeignGong Posted 1 May , 2019 Share Posted 1 May , 2019 I understand that only approx. 35% are on there at the moment, the rest will be done later this year. Peter
ss002d6252 Posted 1 May , 2019 Share Posted 1 May , 2019 His effects seem to have been paid to a guardian for his children so I wonder if he was a widow and had no family who claimed a pension. It could explain why he's missing - but, as above, the remainder of the records will arrive in due course and he may be amongst them. Kath Posted 1 May , 2019 Author Share Posted 1 May , 2019 Thank you, Peter. Hopefully he'll turn up. Craig, the family story is that his children were taken in by the neighbouring Spraggs family - represented in Soldiers Effects by the first named Guardian. (their mother had died end of 1915). http://www.northhillhistory.co.uk/stephens.htm Soldiers Effects says Mrs. Florence E. M. Kingston, became the children's guardian in 1919. The Northhill History Group & I can't trace Mrs. Kingston, all likely candidates lead nowhere, & I was hoping the WFA Pension Ledger would help.
