Can anyone shed any light on this cap badge please

 

Seems quite crude, was it a privately made one?

 

I vaguely remember seeing one similar but cannot recall where or when now

I’m glad it was at least of interest. Perhaps you could make a post there illustrating the badge that you have for posterity and the benefit of others.

It is an unusual title in that all other variants of Bombay Volunteer  Artillery badges and buttons seem to manage to display the title in full. It looks like white metal ? What is the fixation on the reverse ?

Yes until proven its just an option so far

 

I have asked the badge owner for a picture of the reverse

The reverse as requested, not a great picture but all I have received
