Chef_Hendrix Posted 22 April , 2019 Share Posted 22 April , 2019 If anyone would be as so grateful to look up and take pictures of the following Officers Service Record https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C1175866 with info kindly supplied by the Forum I would appreciate it. I would of course reimburse for costs. Thank you Gaz
Admin DavidOwen Posted 22 April , 2019 Admin Share Posted 22 April , 2019 Gaz If no-one comes forward you can employ a researcher (the last 2 officer records I had done cost less than £5 each) one such is https://www.arcre.com/ others are available. Chef_Hendrix Posted 22 April , 2019 Author Share Posted 22 April , 2019 Hi David, Thanks very much for that. I went through TNA themselves last time and after a lengthy wait it cost quite a bit more than I was expecting! I'll give it a couple of days and then I will most likely go with your recommendation. Either way i'll update my post. Thanks Gaz
BillyH Posted 22 April , 2019 Share Posted 22 April , 2019 It never ceases to amaze me that the N.A. charge the same price for a medal index card as a war diary. There is no comparison, and the MIC is really poor quality whereas Ancestry do a free copy of a far better quality MIC BillyH.
stiletto_33853 Posted 23 April , 2019 Share Posted 23 April , 2019 (edited) Gaz, I will be at Kew on Thursday, no promises as I have a full day. However if I get the time I will pull his file and photograph it, as long as its not hundreds of pages.
