Guest Posted 16 April , 2019 Share Posted 16 April , 2019 Hi everyone, this brass shell has been in my family for many years and I'm interested to know more about its origin. I would like to identify the type of shell, the type of cannon that could have fired such shell (navy or artillery) and the cannon's brand. What does the letter R stands for? I assume Berndorf 1910 is the place and year of manufacture. Also, was it fired in WWI? By which army? Are they rare or common?
peregrinvs Posted 16 April , 2019 Share Posted 16 April , 2019 (edited) Made by Berndorfer Metallwaren-Fabrik of Austria. Could you give us the metric dimensions: length, width across the neck and width across the base. Edited 16 April , 2019 by peregrinvs
