delta Posted 13 April , 2019 Share Posted 13 April , 2019 I was looking checking the route from Ginchy to Lesboeufs on Google Maps ( as one does....) The photographs seem to show some buidling work taken place just south of the Guards Memorial Has some, who has been there recently, tell me the imact (if any of the view down to the Quadrilateral and Leuze Wood? Many thanks

Don Regiano Posted 14 April , 2019 Share Posted 14 April , 2019 I suspect this was also a consequence of the development.
delta Posted 14 April , 2019 Author Share Posted 14 April , 2019 Well it certainly makes sense that a wind farm is being built across that ridge; The quadrilateral will be well and the line of Straight Trench will be very easy to identify form now on

nigelcave Posted 14 April , 2019 Share Posted 14 April , 2019 They seem to have gone wind electricity-generating mad in the Somme area - and, indeed, south west of Cambrai. I sometimes wonder at the economics of it all, not to mention the carbon footprint in making the things and so forth; but doubtless it is for the environmental good. A positive is that you get new interesting tracks to drive/walk along, getting close or even on to places that were otherwise inaccessible.
