mbriscoe Posted 5 April , 2019 Author Share Posted 5 April , 2019 I get their newsletter, I might have seen it mentioned there but thought worth sharing anyway. Might have another trip up - I have a Historic Scotland season ticket. I donated some transcriptions of letters from my Great Grandfather from Crimea and India to the museum (he was in the 72nd). I found them in the newspaper archive so tidied up the transcriptions. Most interesting bit was that in his last year serving in India, he virtually ran a printing business for the regiment (doing work for other regiments and the civil service) and was excused all military duties, just had to turn up for church parade.
