The Western Front Diaries of Charles Bean edited by Peter Burness

This book is an edited collection of Bean’s diaries from 1916 through 1918, with many photos that were new to me.

At 644 pages this book is large but some entries had to be omitted. That said, I was delighted to find that it contained new references to my wife’s family.

This book will prove to be a useful companion to Bean’s Official Histories Of the Great War as it includes insights that were not appropriate for the Official Histories.
