Hi Danny,

There is an officers SWB roll record for a 2/Lt Richard Morton Geldart RFA, date stamped 25.10.1916, which gives a then address as The Vicarage, Moulton Chapel, Spalding, Lincs. Further research needed, but in the 1901 census he might be a 6 year old son of a J B Geldart (a CoE clergyman) and his wife Frances, born in Yorkshire, and living in Devon.

Regards

Chris

If you look at Newspapers on Findmypast there are a number of hits for RM Geldart. He was awarded a Kitchener scholarship in 1918 for 3 years at Clare College. Also appears on exam results 1917 part of a science degree. So on Discharge 1916 must have gone back to his studies.
