Looking for info on these two:

First is K.49789 Stoker 1st Class Matthew Jackson. Looking to confirm that he served on the HMS St Vincent.Scan0166.jpg.89193034f9a7ed22113753c54340908c.jpg

Second is PO/11078 Private Jim Weston of the Royal Marine Light infantry, who seems to pre-war regular.  Looking for general info and if possible what ship he served on in March 1915. Seems to be a ship with a name with 2 words(i.e HMS ----- ----)

I'm probably imagining that it says "Black Prince", however, his papers appear to show that he was on Inconstant, (possibly, or something similar), at the time - https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D7750330

I can't see a mention of St Vincent - https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D7007622

Of course, i'm only using the image viewer.

The emblem matches the Black Prince.

You will find service papers for both men on the Find My Past website:

Matthew Jackson's papers show Victory II; Gannet (or Gunner?) (Penarth); Pekin (Penarth) & Victory X while Jim Weston apparently served aboard Inconstant throughout the war.

I am baffled as I cannot see any Royal Marines amongst the sailors in the third photograph while the second photograph needs some explanation as it appears to be a picture of part of a dockside to me.

The second photo is a close up of the life boat. Royal marines can be seen in full photo. I'm pretty sure I've got the wrong people as the senders.

I #'m not an expert,  but the last photograph would match the view aft from a Duke of Edinburgh class cruiser  (i.e Black Prince) . Probably taken between the 3rd and 4th funnel?.

You can see a search light platform, inboard of a lifeboat on skids.  Behind that is what looks like the rear of one starboard 9.2 inch turret.

Thanks GH, I agree.
