 Hi,

Another Field Service Regulations (1914) Book.    Signed by 2/Lt. James Robert Steele.  Newfoundland Regiment.

Overseas.  Gallipoli.   As Cpl. 926.    - Bw+ VM roll shows  20/8/1915 -  26/12/1915.    (MIC.+15* roll shows 19/9/1915. - Arrival at Suvla?)   -     F&F  19/12/17 - 9/3/1918.

Son of Sarah Blanche + Samuel Owen Steele,  who founded the family business (S.O.Steele Ltd. 1901 - 1983),   at 100 Water Street, St Johns, Newfoundland,  and retired to Kings Kerswell, Devon. - This address was given  by 2/Lt Steele for correspondence re.medals.

Once again I'm struggling to find his service record on BAC-LAC (Library and Archives Canada);  I'd also like to locate a War Diary if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

His brother Lt. Owen William Steele 1st Btn.  was killed at Beaumont Hamel on 8/7/1916 and is buried at Maily Maillet Cemetery.  His diary is published here -  https://www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctt8165s

Hello if this doesn't work :  https://www.therooms.ca/sites/default/files/steele_james_robert_0-161_or_926.pdf

Enter his brother's name into the database and follow the  trail. After clicking on Steele Owen Wilson, scroll down to " military service files", And then search database.

Buster

It works just fine thank you Buster.
