Trench trotters March 2019 trip.

I have not long returned from my annual Somme trip. I used to do mini blog type updates but hey ho. But some good walks, graves and cemeteries visited and some special finds (all on the surface). I have identified the original owner of the knife, wounded at Pozieres and killed 3/5/17 at Bullecourt. Weather was trying at times. Iron harvest as prevalent as ever.

Love the remains of the 15/17th (S) West Yorks 1/2nd Leeds cap badge. Favourite design

Incredible finds. Thank you for sharing those photos.

On average how long did you spend field walking to find those items?

As always.

Great to see the images from your March trip TT.

More to come I hope.

Cheers.
