GWF1967 Posted 24 March , 2019 Share Posted 24 March , 2019 (edited) Hi, I have a copy of "Field Service Regulations Part 1 Operations 1909 (1912)" Inside the cover is written " Col Sgt Don A.S. Mackay. 36th Peel Regt. Canada" I googled and found 36th Peel Regt. existed 1921 - 1923, (Previously - 1888 - 1921 Peel Battalion), renamed - 1923 - 1936 Peel and Dufferin). Whilst the regiment was not mobilized itself during the Great War " drafts from various units were called up". I can't find a D.A.S. Mackay using "Library and Archives Canada, any help finding if Col Sgt Mackay saw overseas service would be greatly appreciated. There is a Donald A.S. Mackay B. 1884, Thurso, Caithness. I wonder if he could be my man? Edited 24 March , 2019 by GWF1967

Many thanks indeed David; definitely the same man, birth, father, date and place of death all match. Guy.
