Guest Posted 8 March , 2019 Share Posted 8 March , 2019 Just wondering GrandFather was #50 draft1917 from Halsey down camp, 1st B, R Newfoundland Reg, B.E.F. , then embarked Southampton draft #34 from 2/1st Nilda Reg to 1st Nilda Reg .SN 3276 of St Johns Newfoundland. western front Nov ,1917, and made it into Cologne Germany with the 1st Battalion .Signed W V W , lieutenant casualty officer. I know he was in Halsey on 22-7-18 , as well .John Joseph Johnson Royal Newfoundland Regiment . is there a way I can find information on his path across North Sea to Germany ? feel free to send everything or anything! Guest Posted 21 March , 2019 Share Posted 21 March , 2019 Good day people, I’m looking for information on my grandfather that was on western front nov 27/1917 TIL end of was . just wondering I seen on a few pages that he was put into the 1/1st Bn royal Newfoundland regiment BEF December 11/1917 and spent next year on front lines and in London England in hospital few times as well! any information would be great? What in particular do you wish to discover that isn't in his service papers? He wouldnt go to Germany via the North Sea as mentioned in your first post. 1st NF marched from Belgium into Germany in December 1918.
