Dear GWF aficionados and Alf,

The attached scan of a signed portrait of a 287842411_6DavidRaoscanLt-Col.jpeg.892ecabf9a0133cef5e6966ba9038242.jpegMajor (or Lt-Col)  - thanks to David Rao - shows a senior 32nd Lancers Indian Army cavy officer.

But who was he?

Kindest regards,

Kim.

Lt Col Frederick de Bude Young?

Found him in 1914 Army List as 32nd Lancers after thinking surname was Young.

CMG according to Medal Index Card.

31/3/1865-1/11/1920. Buried Ripley, Guildford.

if I have it correct then a biography that suggests made OC 32 Lancers 1914

The link has a painting of Frederick de Bude which is at RMA Sandhurst. Looks remarkably like the above Gent. Scroll down to see.

Dear Mark and Alf,

Many thanks for solving the puzzle of his signature - not to mention all the bonus Goodies added. Well done!

Kindest regards,

Kim.
