Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 21 March , 2019 Share Posted 21 March , 2019 Dear GWF aficionados and Alf, The attached scan of a signed portrait of a Major (or Lt-Col) - thanks to David Rao - shows a senior 32nd Lancers Indian Army cavy officer. But who was he? Kindest regards, Kim.

CMG according to Medal Index Card. 31/3/1865-1/11/1920. Buried Ripley, Guildford. if I have it correct then a biography that suggests made OC 32 Lancers 1914 http://www.anzac-biographies.com/2017/04/10/young-colonel-frederick-de-bude-cmg/ Edited 22 March , 2019 by Mark1959
alf mcm Posted 21 March , 2019 Share Posted 21 March , 2019 Mark, This would be Frederick de Bude Young. There's a tree on Ancestry which shows he died in 1920. Regards, Alf McM
Mark1959 Posted 21 March , 2019 Share Posted 21 March , 2019 The link has a painting of Frederick de Bude which is at RMA Sandhurst. Looks remarkably like the above Gent. Scroll down to see.
