ss002d6252 Posted 18 March , 2019 Share Posted 18 March , 2019 (edited) They were, as your surmise two different things. The wound gratuity appears to have been paid only to officers. There was a gratuity paid to men in lieu of a pension but that was not wound gratuity, it could cover all forms of impairment whether wound, accident or illness.
