michaeldr Posted 15 March , 2019 Share Posted 15 March , 2019 (edited) Remembered Today on the Great War Forum: Admiral Herbert Lyon CB RN Rear Admiral Lyon was placed on the retired list in January 1913, but with the outbreak of war, returned as a Captain RNR in command of the yacht Safa-el-Bahr on 23 August, 1915. In 1916 he became the Commodore Commanding the auxiliary patrol based at Malta, which in the last two years of the war averaged not less than 70 vessels.
