He emigrated to Canada and enlisted 44th Bn Canadian Infantry.

Son of A. W. and Frances Armstrong, of "Govan," Pendre Avenue, Prestatyn, Flints, Wales. Native of Chester, England. Returned from Govan, Saskatchewan, Canada, 1915.

Seems the family moved from Chester to Canada, returning with the John keeping Andrew running the farm
