SmallTownGirl Posted 12 March , 2019 Share Posted 12 March , 2019 Hi peeps Is there a document/link anywhere that details the criteria that the Medical Board used to decide whether or not a man/widow was entitled to a pension and/or gratuity, please? I assume there was some sort of sliding scale of disability and/or dependents, but there must also have been a minimum disability to be reached. I'm not looking for this information in relation to any particular individual, nor am I seeking information on the amounts that might have been paid, but if the latter is in the document/link, all to the good. I hope this makes sense! Thanks STG
seaJane Posted 12 March , 2019 Share Posted 12 March , 2019 I'm sure there is somewhere - maybe searching the medical subforum will yield results. It may be in the Official History of the War Medical Series.
MaureenE Posted 12 March , 2019 Share Posted 12 March , 2019 The following may possibly have something, although it is probably more about the amounts etc War Pensions and Allowances by J. M. Hogge and T. H. Garside 1918 Archive.org The medical criteria was probably something that was based on long standing principles which had been used over a period of time, well before the outbreak of the Great War Cheers Maureen
