Stuart,

Here is my breakdown of his service:

Enlisted in Irvine on September 20, 1915 as an RFA Driver
Joined 3/2nd Lowland Brigade RFA which moved to Richmond, Yorks. by the end of 1915
Posted to 2/1st Ayrshire Bty, 2/2nd Lowland Brigade RFA on February 19, 1916
Moved from Larbert to Great Baddow and Billericay, Essex in March 1916
Battery renamed A Bty, 326th Brigade RFA on May 6, 1916
Battery renamed 529th Bty to replace one of the same name (which becomes A/326)
529 Bty trained at Aldershot, embarked Southampton on October 2, 1916, disembarked at Havre on October 4, 1916
Joined 172nd Brigade RFA and battery designated C (H)/172 on October 7, 1916
2 spells in field ambulances in October 1916 to Base at Havre on November 1, 1916
Posted from Base to D (H)/103rd Brigade RFA, 23rd Division on November 26, 1916
Another spell in a field ambulance and hospital etc. August 3, 1917 - September 8, 1917

Mustered as Gunner for this move, overstayed leave into January 1918
Posted to D (H)/162nd Brigade RFA, 33rd Division on May 4, 1918
Mustered as Driver on August 20, 1918
Released as a miner on December 12, 1918

You need the War Diaries of 172nd Brigade RFA, 103rd Brigade RFA, 33rd DAC and 162nd Brigade RFA to chart his movements overseas.
