todays query, found at Gommecourt, Im guessing with a pointed nose its amour piercing??

It is probably a ballistic nose for a streamlined long range shell, a conical nose that screws on to the tip of the shell.  A quick glance at 'notes on German shells' shows that most of these were in 15cm calibre.

SRD thanks, I would say nose is probably 10cm long. the join gap looks interesting as I would have thought it would be down tight.
