Dear members

I have a soldier I am researching (name above) am I correct in believing he was with 126 Company MGC (as per medal roll below)?

Also was he 2nd Battalion Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment)?

From LLT I see 126Coy MGC was formed in Egypt but 2nd Bn Royal Scots, Lothian Regt was in France?

Any info on the man and units greatly appreciated as always.

Thanks for reading

David

Admitted to 34 CCS (LLT says: La Chapellette (near Peronne) 16 Apr 1917; Tincourt 1 July 1917) with a dodgy knee on 11/6/17. Unit 126 Coy MGC. Other unit info says

"42nd Division, (Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment), 3rd (Reserve) Battalion)"

The transcribed record says 1 year service and 7 in field force.

42nd Division was in Egypt in 1916. LLT says all units had embarked for France by end of Feb 1917. 126 Company was  in 126th  E Lancs Brigade.

So points to a likely scenario: to 126 Coy in late 1916 and a move in early 1917 to France with the Division. Transfer to R Scots sometime after June 1917
