Hello everyone,

Can you help me with any information or photos of my Grandfather?

His name was Sgt Edward Hume Grant and he served in the 9th Batalion, Company C, Black Watch, service number 11765, enrolled in Glasgow in October 1915, shot but survived two years later?

Hello Carolina and welcome. I have split this into a separate topic as it isn't relevant to the battle of Loos.

Carolina,

  Welcome to the forum.

Ancestry have a pension record for your Grandfather, but it can only be viewed on Fold 3 or by Western Front Association members. The rcord states that Edward received a pension, due to a gun shot wound to the left arm and gas poisoning. He was discharged on 26/3/19,

Regards,

His medal roll on Ancestry shows that he was also in the 8th Battalion. Both 8th and 9th Battalions were in Belgium at the Armistice. I know the 3rd Reserve Bn was at the Curragh...

This is really useful as I knew he had been hospitalised for a gin shot wound when he was nearly 21-discharge date though is stated as this year?
