kenripper Posted 28 February , 2019 Share Posted 28 February , 2019 This is thought to be 8th Devonshire about 1915. Any thoughts on the 'accessories'?

T8HANTS Posted 28 February , 2019 Share Posted 28 February , 2019 Army sports, the rope is for 'tug of war' and the 'mops' I think are used in piggy-back jousting, or similar knock em down/off games. 8th Hants used to do wheelbarrow jousting if you missed the target a bucket of water descended upon you. kenripper Posted 28 February , 2019 Author Share Posted 28 February , 2019 I like that idea. Incidentally, there are 35 blokes in this photo. Would that signify that this group ( a company?) may have been victors in some competition involving tug of war and piggy back jousting?
