horatio2 Posted 27 February , 2019 Share Posted 27 February , 2019 (edited) A Special Service (SS) seaman, he deserted (RUN) from the destroyer HMS NONSUCH, based on HMS DILIGENCE at Scapa Flow, in 1918 but was later recovered. In consequence, as a deserter, he forfeited his three medals but these were later restored and issued to him in October 1924.
