Memorial has been cleaned since photographed in 2010 so all inscriptions now readable.

From my machine translation of the inscription, I presume it approximates to being a District War Memorial?

Hi Martin,

The inscription just says Penygroes. I can't see anything about  'and District'.

I don't know about this hall specifically, but it looks of the style of so many others built in the 20s and 30s to remember the war dead.

You will see the same englyn by R Williams Parry again.

He was born in Talysarn and has connections with many places in Dyffryn Nantlle.

A machine translation picked out something about boundary which made me think could be the district, including nearby villages but perhaps reading too much into it.

Still wondering about the Neuadd Goffa.

A women's peace march started there in 1926

Puzzled by that.

It reads:

Perhaps show not to trust machine translation!  Usually gives a rough idea of the meaning though!
