Telegram or B.104-82 (or both)?

Recommended Posts

I've seen some records which include telegrams sent to the families of men telling them that their loved one has been wounded or killed, and I've also seen other records where that news is passed on via an Army Form, such as B.104-82 or B.104-82a.

Does anyone know if the forms replaced the telegrams (and if so roughly when) or were both sent to families?
