Sniper's Shield

Recommended Posts

Looking for an I.D for this sniper's shield found on the Somme. The main body is about 600mm wide x 380mm high. It is about 10mm thick and much heavier than the commonly seen German ones with a similar shape. Note the two thick spikes below and the two loop handles on the back.

Many thanks for any suggestions

Kind regards

John

One of the German variations. Includes various design features and general appearance of the 1916 shield with the heavier construction of the 1917-18 shield
