trenchwalker Posted 13 February , 2019 Share Posted 13 February , 2019 I’m researching the attack where Rupert Hallowes saw action earning his Victoria cross. The war diaries mention a B series of trenches which I can find any map with it on. Have looked various posts up on the forum but they are nearly 10 years old. Any help? Cnock Posted 14 February , 2019 Share Posted 14 February , 2019 On 29 September 1915 at 16.30 hrs the Germans exploded a mine near B4 (left flank 4/Middlesex). Trench B4 was occupied by the Germans. It was at this spot that 2Lt Hallowes was KIA during a counterattack on 30 September. regards, Cnock
