I am helping a chum (or at least trying to help him) research his GGF, 45772 George William Oates, Devonshire Regt.  From Ancestry we have his SWB entry, his MIC, and I see that his pension records are available which I will look at tonight (I have lost my WFA log on details).  His medal record says he was 1st Bn then 9th Bn.  Can anyone help fill in the gaps?

Thank you. I have found his pension record which tells me that he was shot in the right thigh but nothing more on his service.
